I met Bob when we were both 4 years old and living next to eachother on South Beach. Our parents became best friends and so did we for quite a while, being cantors at junior services and playing the trombone in the Nautilus band. Unfortunately Bob died in his early fifties. He was a good man. He would do anything for you. I know that he took great care of my parents' cars when he had his own tire business.
The last time I saw Bob was at the reunion and he had on a rubber tie. I don't wear ties so a rubber tie is something you don't see often. I asked him if he got it at Macy's. He told me he was in the tire business and thus the reason for the rubber tie. Pretty cool, dude. I do remember Bob singing in Temple louder than most. He actually knew the words. I used to just fake em.
